Today, ESPN.com and the Birmingham News are reporting that former Auburn defensive coordinator and Florida graduate Gene Chizik has been hired as the Tigers head coach. Chizik was 5-19 in two seasons at Iowa State. He also served as assistant head coach at Texas, was defensive coordinator at Central Florida and Stephen F. Austin, and coached at Middle Tenn. First, you must open up a true playoff system to all 11 conference champions. Secondly, if you want a 16-team playoff similar to what the Football Championship Subdivision orchestrates every year, then you are left with five at-large berths to complete the field of 16. That means that the two teams that advance to the championship will play an additional four games.
